June 19, 2014 the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Science, Information and Communication Technologies and future planning of the Republic of Korea has signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of science and technology activities during the state visit of the President of the Republic of South Korea Park Geun-Hye to Kazakhstan.

On 13 June 2014 the National Center held a seminar on application of Thomson Reuters Web of Science-based analytical tools the for scientometry experts.
Active Web of Science users include scientists from 80 countries of the world including Kazakhstan thanks to the state-supported national subscription with this research platform from 2011.
11 June 2014, Astana –presentation of Scopus, one of the largest international research and bibliometric data bases, was delivered at the National Center for State Research and Technical Expert Review JSC.
Scopus is truly global in terms of the content coverage providing open access to over 50 mln. of research abstracts, 20,000 titles, 36,000 books, 5,000 publishers from 105 countries of the world and 2,800 journals.
On May 15, 2014 in the National center for scientific and technical expertise there was held the seminar on the use of Thomson Reuters products in analytics.
The main objective of the seminar is to show the advanced capabilities of Thomson Reuters resources for comparison and analysis. As on the basis of Insides there was determined a growth in publication activity of Kazakhstan scientists in the period from 2011 till the present moment, from the level of 300 publications per year to 800 publications re. currently, by the number of quotations domestic scientists are ahead of their Russian colleagues by the one-tenth of the worldwide average in the ratio of 0,8 to 0,7.
